Last year I started this auto-ethnographic photo project. I took it as a disconnection- A disconnection through language, land, and territories. But gradually “Somewhere in Between” started to come alive ‘not’ through the elements which separate us, but the elements which connect us; Culture, traditions, food, love, devotion, and beliefs. Then and there I realized that the roots- my roots, my identity, my belonging are hidden among the people.
People of faith and not of religion.
People of the present and not just of past
People of beliefs and not of division
This project is me. This project is my journey toward myself. Retracing, discovering new paths amidst the old ones, connecting and sharing stories as I go along on this journey.
This is a “beginning” of a journey.
